I have a serious sugar habit. It’s been extremely bad lately. The good news is that my weight hasn’t change despite my poor diet. The bad news is that my weight hasn't decreased either. These are things that I know can curb my urges.
1. Regular exercise
2. Healthy snacks
3. Plenty of water
I think I’ve been okay with exercise. I’ve been poor with healthy snacks. It takes a bit of preparation, and I’ve been un-motivated and lazy. Water. I can do better. Maybe I should keep track of my water intake to see how much I really am drinking.
I should eat more vegetables and count calories, also. I tried counting calories earlier in the year, but the task is so daunting. It’s not so much the keeping track of what I eat but the searching for how much calories foods are is such a pain. I’ll rather be doing something else.

Hey Lily T - what did you use to try and count calories before? I use SparkPeople to count calories, since its got a pretty good database of most food items; and if my food item isn't in the database, I can easily enter it in myself (which I have to do pretty often since I'm in New Zealand and there aren't many Australian/New Zealand foods in there, as most of the content is from the US) - makes searching for calorie values much easier. I also like Sparkpeople's water tracker too, its regularly got me tracking how many glasses of water I drink every day.
Good luck geting back on track, Lily T! Great to see you in blogland again :-)
Yeah, counting calouries is probably the worst thing about losing weight, usually I try for about a week, then give up. I've tried counting what I buy instead and dividing by number of days instead but the effect is usually the same. The reality is that it's possible to lose weight *without* counting, you just have to be more cautious.
Hi Marshmallow! good to see you again! I'm going to check out your blog asap. Thanks for the tip about Sparkpeople's. I just weaned my daughter, so I'm okay to join now. I just haven't gotten myself to do it. I'm afraid of commitment.
Hi logical guy! your right. it is possible to lose weight without counting. I did it for a while. Maybe I'll try it again.
